Strangely Still

There's a breeze on my face tickling my cheeks with
bits of cloud that were too heavy to stay in the sky The few leaves that remain dangling from the occasional
skeletal branch are shivering in the slight chill And the ducks are churning slowly in their usual circles But the lake is
strangely still
The ceiling of the world is grey and thick with
unfallen rain It looks as though it's pondering whether being as it is is sufficient (and isn't that always the question?) or whether some type of downpour is called for &

InsomniaFrosty curliques and clouds obscure the glass Curtains for my window to the outside Light is admitted but refracted, softened, weakened Infused with the chill the frame tries to keep out No lense for prying eyes, only silvery shadows are visible And the glow of a desk lamp Artificially yellow Nightlight To keep away the dark Ice flowers creep at the edges of the frame But I lie Unassailable Beneath my electric blanket Spinning in circles going nowhere No dreams for me tonight, sandman I've nightmares enough awake And daydreams to last the thousand Insomnia

Thinker's BlockThe chastising wind knocks A constant reminder on my window As I stare philosophically at pages Full of unwritten words I am behind schedule Blame it on the inconsistent rhythm Of the branches against the panes I can no longer tell time Not that I could ever tell it much Certainly not to hasten or to linger Much less when to do so After all, isn’t when the very problem? Yeah I'm not really here much lately...nor, I suppose, am I particularly "there," wherever "there" is.

The pen has run out of ink for the time being, so the eyes are doing their best. Results to follow shortly, one hopes.

Exams this week eeww

school's been taking up so much time. I'm almost positive im going to springhill again this summer, i just dont know if i want to be in TST or not :\. I got a postcard from Nadia Melissa and Karrie, although i cant reply cause i lost their addresses ^^' woops, i'll have to ask sara for them. btw, did you know that today ish her birthday!?!?!?!?!

Thanks for the welcome. I think, when I finally get my act together to submit stuff, it'll be mostly writing, I'm rather lacking in the artistic skills department.
